Michelle’s primary concern is the study and observation of the human condition, exploring form through light and movement within figurative work. Michelle is interested in how we, as modern humans respond to imagery in evolutionary terms as unique complex individuals. Whilst exploring how we still share a sensory and biological makeup within our historical and cultural influences that drive our collective responses.
Michelle’s current work looks towards elements and ideas around posthuman theory, the technological sublime and transhumanism, exploring the current tensions between humans and machines.
Painting and drawing are central to Michelle’s practice and inform her current work with moving image.
